DSHA Launches “Step-Up” Housing Program to Combat Homelessness
Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) is pleased to announce the January, 2008 launch of “Step-Up”, a three-year rental assistance pilot program which will assist emancipated youth exiting the foster care system who are at risk of homelessness and individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse conditions who are chronically homeless or at risk for chronic homelessness.
Lt. Governor Carney Announces Much Needed Funds For Foreclosure Prevention Counseling
Lt. Governor John Carney today announced that the State of Delaware has received over $300,000 to support Delaware's foreclosure prevention counseling efforts. The much-needed boost will enable housing counseling agencies to provide more foreclosure and default counseling than ever before to area homeowners in danger of losing their homes.
Homeownership Clinic and Foreclosure Prevention Workshop
On September 19 and 20, 2007 a series of homeownership clinics and foreclosure prevention workshops were held across the State. The purpose of the events was to raise the knowledge of the public about important issues impacting Delaware homeowners.
Foreclosure filings in Del. up 38 percent
Foreclosure filings in Delaware rose 38 percent in July over last year, and experts say those numbers are likely to get worse, providing another sign that troubles in the subprime mortgage market will continue.
