DSHA ANNOUNCES 2014 TOP LENDER OF THE YEAR
Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) announces the recipient of the 2014 Top Producing Lender Award - Trident Mortgage. Last year, Trident Mortgage successfully secured more than $28.5 million in mortgage loans for 176 families through DSHA’s homeownership programs. This is the sixth year in a row Trident Mortgage has earned DSHA’s Top Producing Lender Award, helping 886 families with more than $139 million in DSHA’s mortgages since 2009.
Biden Secures Reforms from National Mortgage Registry
Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that the national shadow mortgage registry known as MERS, which was at the center of the housing crisis, has agreed to implement important reforms – including regular reports on the accuracy of its records – as part of a settlement of a lawsuit Biden’s office filed against it last year. Biden filed the suit after hearing from homeowners throughout Delaware who were unable to have meaningful conversations about saving their home and who were unable to find out who owned their mortgage.

Attorney General Biden, Lawmakers Unveil Bipartisan Response to Foreclosure Crisis

Biden secures 21-count indictment in mortgage rescue fraud scheme
Wilmington, DE - February 4, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, Attorney General Beau Biden announced that Jamaar Manlove, Larry Manlove, Rhonda Manlove, Master Builders for Christ and Vision Builders Christian Center have been charged in a 21-count indictment for crimes related to a mortgage rescue scam. Warrants have been issued for their arrest and racketeering liens have been placed on their assets. This represents what is believed to be one of the largest mortgage rescue fraud indictments in Delaware history. The indictment alleges that Jamaar Manlove ran a criminal enterprise involving theft, money laundering, and forgery in which he preyed on vulnerable homeowners who faced imminent foreclosure. In these scams, struggling homeowners sell their homes to third parties to avoid foreclosure based on the false promise that they can repurchase their homes through a complex sale/lease-back arrangement when their financial situations improve. In reality, this never happens.
