DELAWARE STATE HOUSING AUTHORITY HOMEBUYER FAIR IS GREAT SUCCESS
The Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA), in partnership with The Money School and the Delaware Federation of Housing Counselors, held its annual Homebuyer Fair on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware. The Fair – geared toward providing prospective homebuyers with the opportunity to learn about the steps in purchasing a home – was a great success for the fourth year in a row.
Bipartisan Group of Senators Introduce Legislation to Better Manage Federal Property
Today, Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del.), Ranking Member Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and Committee Members Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio), and Mark Begich (D-Alaska) introduced important legislation that would assist federal agencies in improving the disposal and management of federal buildings and facilities. The Federal Real Property Asset Management Reform Act of 2013 would help facilitate the disposal of unneeded federal property and establish a framework for federal agencies to better manage existing space in a more cost-effective manner
DELAWARE TO ASSIST MANUFACTURED HOMEOWNERS
It’s a call for help that frequently has had no answer — until now. Many manufactured homeowners have not been eligible to participate in foreclosure prevention programs because their home is technically considered personal property and not real estate. The new Manufactured Housing Assistance Program (MHAP) has been made available through Delaware Homeowner Relief — a partnership of the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) and the Delaware Attorney General’s Office. MHAP enables owners of manufactured homes on rented land or on a lot owned by the homeowner to receive payment assistance for past due lot rent and/or home payments.
