DNREC ready to assist homeowners by expediting storm repair permits
DNREC stands ready to assist property owners by expediting storm repair permits
November 17, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — As Delaware beach-area property owners take stock of damage from last week’s coastal storm, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control staff stands ready to assist owners and contractors who are planning repairs or rebuilding efforts. DNREC will work directly with property owners and make every effort to expedite any permits and approvals needed.
If a dune crossover, dune steps or any part of a home is damaged during a coastal storm, residents are encouraged to contact their local town or city, along with the county and DNREC officials prior to making repairs, so that staff can provide information about what types of repairs and approvals are required and permitted. Community and DNREC officials also can help determine proper construction practices for withstanding the next storm.
