Washington, DC – April 8, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Rep. Mike Castle highlighted the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s announcement to award $190,000 for the construction of exhibits for Delaware’s Children’s Museum, at the Christina Riverfront in Wilmington.  These funds were included in the annual appropriations bill for fiscal year 2009 (PL 111-8).

“The Delaware Children’s Museum will be the first museum in our state entirely dedicated to kids, and I know that these funds will continue its mission to create interactive and innovative exhibits to make learning fun for visiting students,” said Castle.  “I am pleased to have helped secure these funds, and am encouraged by the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s commitment to this institution.  In addition to the educational benefits, the economic activity that will be generated through job creation and revitalization of the riverfront will make this museum a great asset to our community.”

On Friday, April 9, the Delaware Children’s museum will be holding their Grand Opening Gala to celebrate the community’s involvement in helping this project develop.  On April 24, the Children’s Museum will officially open to the public
